Up and down the M3

Weird title I know, but would certainly have to be the major hurdle for this week what with a management group meeting and FAST meeting in London this week. Being on a course helped in some ways, and there's still tomorrow to try and rest up before starting back in the office on Monday. The course was one that the team had been waiting a few years to do, and so hopefully will come in useful with some future development work and the possible threat of a customer call out.

In other news I now have a dishwasher (yes!! no more washing up) and a shiny new phone. There is a also a plan to door up the hatchway through to my kitchen which is the last thing really to do in the front room. Then the photos will go up (provided I've tidied) and I can let the rest of the world see what the outcome was.

Welcome to 2007

Happy new year and all that jazz. Well 2006 has gone, and was quite a full year looking back on it. A few firsts, a few new things and lot of things that were enjoyable which has to be the main thing.

Christmas was spent round at mum and dads and mainly involved plenty of food, drink and plenty of relaxing. Presents were good and just what I asked for, including a very nice wall clock which has gone up in the lounge and the swinging pedulum is now very slightly hypnotic (must stop staring at clock). New Years eve was very kindly hosted by Uncle Rowland where a good time was had by all and managed to include 6 (count them 6) bottles of champagne over the course of the night. My head wasn't too bad this morning but a bowl of homemade soup (not mine) and some fresh baked bread helped. Ok that's a random thing to blog about but it was a damn fine meal considering how much sleep I hadn't had ;)

I'm back home now and with one day left of the holiday it's time to get prepping for everything that needs to be done in the next few days and weeks, but on the plus side my front room is almost complete (just need to get some doors for the hatchway), but the new carpet and sofas arrived last month and really do look good, and it's not just me that says that :)

The Christmas decorations will have to come down this week as well, which is a bit of a shame, but does mean I get the massive tree out of the window and should inspire me to bring all my CDs back down from where they've been stored in the spare room, and then I ought to really look into clearing that room out, too many books in too many boxes still I guess ;)

Have a great 2007, I know I intend to
